Phillip Weiss

Phillip Weiss is an organizational consultant and executive coach specializing in leadership development and workplace relationships. He possesses over 23 years of corporate experience in business. Phillip is an expert in organization assessment, leadership selection and development, leadership transitions, turn-arounds, mergers & acquisitions, performance management, and employee relations.

Types of Leaders/Sectors Served

Phillip has coached at all levels within organizations, from CEOs to star individual contributors. He has played key roles in two corporate turn-arounds, Continental Airlines and Harcourt Assessment. Additionally, while at Continental, Phillip successfully partnered with the Boston Consulting Group and airline leaders to create a dot-com partnership. He currently serves a broad range of clients in oil and gas, consumer goods, and technology.

Work History

Phillip forged his career at Merrill Lynch, Sara Lee, Sony and Continental Airlines. In his last corporate role, he was Vice President of Human Resources at Harcourt Assessment, a division of Reed Elsevier. While at Harcourt Assessment in San Antonio, Texas (a $300 million, 1,500 employee division), Phillip participated in all strategic business initiatives, leadership selection, and development, culminating in the eventual turnaround of the division and sale to Pearson Education.

Phillip was recruited by Continental Airlines as part of a corporate-wide strategic initiative to re-invent the airline by redefining corporate culture. For 7 years the company was designated a Fortune Magazine “Top 100 Companies to Work for in America.” In 2000 while at Continental in his dual role as Director of Headquarters HR and Global Staffing, Phillip was also designated to lead and create the HR function for a dot-com start-up comprising eight other carriers. Led by the Boston Consulting Group, Phillip worked with consultants and airline leaders to establish a joint purchasing exchange based in Washington D.C. In this role Phillip helped to establish all major HR functions and was particularly involved in leadership selection and conflict management.

He has extensive experience working with international teams. At the direction of Reed Elsevier senior leadership in London, Phillip was brought into Harcourt Assessment to help lead the change needed in the newly acquired division. As a member of the senior executive team, Phillip helped the senior leaders navigate a volatile environment and business climate. The division achieved a major turn-around in operations and was ultimately purchased by the company’s number one competitor, Pearson Education.

Education & Publications

Phillip received his Master’s in Human Resources from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business and his B.A. in History from California State University, Sacramento. Phillip is sought out as a regular speaker at human resources conferences as well as corporate and not-for-profit events. He is certified in the Birkman Assessment tool and has significant experience with other instruments as well.

Teresa Karns Edmondson

Teresa Karns Edmondson, M.Ed, LPC, is the founder of Edmondson Consulting Group, a consulting firm specializing in coaching individuals and teams towards peak performance and guiding organizations thru major change and transformation initiatives.

Her clients include both national and international for- profit and non-profit firms spanning across diverse industries and organizational environments. Whether she is working with a start-up software company, consulting to the Nasa Space Program, or coaching leaders at a Fortune 50 company, she effectively works across all levels and functions within organizations, quickly grasping unique cultural and industry nuances. Her list of clients includes oil and gas, energy, large-scale construction, healthcare, legal and software/technology industries.

Teresa’s coaching approach is highly personalized, collaborative, and focused on helping leaders maximize their career and organizational potential. She is skilled at reinforcing and leveraging those competencies an executive performs well, and at providing a clear and honest assessment of any non-constructive patterns or interpersonal behaviors/blindspots that may be hindering career success. She focuses on helping clients better recognize and manage their own reactivity and stress, and in more effectively navigating both personal and work relationships.

IMPACT

Teresa has worked with diverse employee groups from all over the world, including North and South America, Europe, Africa, India and China. She brings over twenty-five (25) years’ experience in management, psychology and organizational dynamics to her workshops and keynote presentations, helping leaders gain increased confidence and expertise in handling the “people-side” of business. She is currently developing programs and materials to assist teams, managers, and executive leaders in learning how to respond more thoughtfully and less reactively to the stressors they face, especially during times of transition. Teresa currently serves as an External Faculty Member for BP’s Worldwide Executive Leadership Development program in the areas of Ethics and Leadership Development. She is also on faculty at the Center for the Study of Natural Systems and the Family in Houston, TX.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Teresa graduated summa cum laude from William Jewell College, holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Houston and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is a certified PROSCI Change Management Consultant and also a certified Senior Birkman™ Consultant. She has completed extensive training in the field of Emotional Intelligence and is a graduate of the Natural Systems Thinking Post-Graduate Training program conducted at The Bowen Center in Washington, D.C.

Nancy Ashworth

Nancy Ashworth is an executive coach, team coach and organizational consultant specializing in the development of high-potentials, senior leaders and their teams. She worked in global corporations and other large companies for 25 years before transitioning to private practice where she enjoys coaching senior leaders and their teams as they define their vision, address complex organizational challenges and work to improve their individual and team function.

Nancy has coached leaders within Fortune 500 companies in multiple organizations and industries, including IT, manufacturing, and high tech, and in national healthcare systems, education and government. Nancy has coached leaders at all organizational levels, from mid-level and senior executives, Board chairs, chief executive officers, vice presidents, director and selected high potentials. In addition to coaching, Nancy facilitates executive and Board retreats, and leads customized team and leadership development sessions.

Nancy lived in SE Asia and Turkey for 7 years, and thrives working across cultures with diverse groups. Her coaching style includes creating an environment that builds on the clients’ strengths and supports them as they explore new ideas, confront issues, and develop solutions to their business challenges. Through an assessment process, she helps clients discover and clarify areas for development, elicits client-generated solutions and strategies, and throughout the coaching holds clients accountable for attaining their goals. She recognizes that leadership is at all levels of an organization and is energized in her work with emerging leaders.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Nancy holds a Masters in Organization Development from American University, and a Bachelors in Political Science, from University of Colorado, Denver. Her interest in team dynamics and work processes led to extended studies in performance excellence, and her selection as a judge for the American Society of Quality (ASQ) International Team Excellence award.

Nancy trained at the Coaches Training Institute and is certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). She is also a Board-Certified Coach (BCC) through Center for Credentialing and Education, and has received specialized coach training in, “Team Coaching: Living Systems Approach to Coaching Work Groups and Teams”, Adler School of Coaching, Toronto, StandOut strengths coaching, Marcus Buckingham Company. She is trained to administer multiple assessments including, Myers-Briggs (MBTI), StandOut Strengths Coaching, The Leadership Circle 360, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, Voices 360 and Team Architect.

Kim Reynolds

Kim is a life-long leader, facilitator, consultant and executive coach. Her specialty is developing high potential leaders and executive teams by way of extraordinary experience. She is the founder of two businesses dedicated to personal and professional evolution, using the outdoors and coaching for sustainable results. Kim is an adjunct Program Manager for the Colorado Outward Bound School’s Professional Development Program that integrates: problem solving, teambuilding, effective communication, decision-making with adventure challenge. She leads and facilitates programs that inspire clients to dig deep, expand their awareness and grow through learning.

Kim has a sincere desire to help others. She has always been committed to meaningful work that yields positive and lasting change in the world. She is the co-founder of The dZi Foundation, working in partnership with remote communities in Nepal to implement community driven-programs that create lasting improvements in their quality of life. Kim has designed and led numerous trips to the Himalaya focused on service-oriented treks that benefit these local communities and challenge clients to think outside of the box. Kim is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, a Certified Marcus Buckingham StandOut Coach, with additional training in neuroscience, and Organization & Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC). She is a graduate of The Coaches Training (CTI) Institute’s Leadership Program and has been an executive coach since 2002.

In 2015, Kim was inducted into the American Mountaineering Hall of Excellence for her lifetime achievement as a climber, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Her endeavors have had a positive influence on the Outdoor Industry, inspiring this spirited community to give back and make a difference.

Precilia

Precilia has spent her career gathering experience in the various dimensions of small business needs. She has a legal background that depicts her natural attention to detail and desire for all things in order.

Precilia supports Phillip Weiss Executive Solutions with a confident tone and get-it-done attitude.  Precilia oversees project management, guides the team on deliverables, assists with Phillip’s travel and calendar, and more.

Precilia is dependable and thorough in her various skill sets which include Microsoft, social media platforms, CRMs and Spanish/English translation. Precilia holds a Paralegal Certification and studied Political Science & English at Sam Houston State University. She and her husband enjoy nature walks, movie outings, weekend getaways and spending time with their teenagers.

 

Michelle Jeter

Michelle is known to coworkers, friends and family as having a special place in her heart for planning! As someone who’s always thinking about the details, she is a reliable partner, team player, and master prioritizer.

Michelle supports Phillip Weiss Executive Solutions in several different facets. She helps manage Phillip’s calendar, organizes multi-layer projects, coordinates with vendors and assists with day to day operational tasks.

A native Houstonian, Michelle comes to us with experience working as a staffing coordinator and event manager where she managed corporate events. Most recently as a project manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, she managed multi-million-dollar projects, specifically, for their largest client, Microsoft.

Michelle graduated from Texas A&M University with a concentration on Event Planning and a minor in Business Administration. She is a huge Aggie fan and enjoys Saturdays on the couch watching games with her husband and daughter.
